Cake = Recovery....

I heard the most amazing thing in my 6AM meeting this morning....

This gal is sharing about the Big Book and that she was told the 

The Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous 

IS suppose to be used like a text book, not read like a novel. 

Meaning -- it is to be studied and used as a tool to learn. 

So her example was that of making a cake....

To make a cake, you need the ingredients BUT you also need instructions!

Without the instructions, you just have .... well .... food. 

You may have all the food you need for the cake but you don't have the cake....

You need the instructions to create the batter and bake the cake.

Our Big Book is OUR instructions for LIFE!

If we do not use our Big Book, our instructions, all we have is ..... a book!

Our recovery is all about ACTION.

We must not only NOT drink, but we must work the steps to the best of our ability.

We learn how to work the steps by studying our book. 

We read it, and write about our steps, and go to book studies, 

and share with others our experience, strength and hope.

With this we pass along our knowledge to the next suffering alcoholic!
